A world class consultancy who have over 140 offices world wide and engage with every sector of the of the capital projects construction industry are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor to assist the Senior Surveyor or other defined line manager in the running of a cost consultancy team and subsequent achievement of project and business goals.

The requirement is to support the Divisional Manager in the day to day management of the buildings sector business. Development of health, education and community sectors advice and support to Local /Health Authorities, development of existing clients and acquiring new business particularly in the external market. The provision of advice to clients in developing business cases through to construction of schools, hospitals, defence and other community based projects.

Typical duties will include, Preparation of standard documentation – reports, valuations, letters, financial statements. Preparation of tender documents as required by procurement choice (including Bills of Quantities). Examine and analyse tenders and prepare tender reports at all stages of procurement. Prepare valuations and financial statements; re-measure as necessary and adjust variations

Our client is the United Kingdoms leading architectural practice, with over two decades of experience in design. They are currently looking to employ a part III architectural assistant to work on design stage and technical packages. This will involve working on the construction stages and using AutoCAD.

This opportunity will involve joining teams working on a number of complex mixed use regeneration schemes in areas throughout the Midlands.

You will ideally have an interest or experience in master planning, urban design and will have be proficient in AutoCAD and have good presentation skills.


Leeds- £35,000 - £40,000 + car/package

Our client is one of the largest Approved Inspectors in England and Wales. They current have an opening for a Senior Building Control Surveyor to join the existing team in their Leeds office.

You will be from either an Approved Inspector or Local Authority background, but be fully up to date with the Building Regulations.

You will be expected to carry out the full range of work scope for a Senior Building Control Surveyor, be give your our geographical area to cover, maintain and expand.

There is the option to be home based or part office based for the right candidate.

Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Bristol - c. £35,000 - £40,000

A Senior Electrical Design Engineer is required to join this leading professional consulting engineers based in Bristol. They specialise in the design of mechanical and electrical services for Hospitals, Schools, Universities and Leisure Buildings.

Suitably qualified in Electrical or Building Services engineering, you will also have previous knowledge of working in a similar environment, ideally matching your project experience with the sectors that they specialise in, however should you not have experience in these fields and your application will still be welcomed.

Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer

Manchester c. £30,000 £35,000

A vacancy has become available for an Intermediate Electrical Building Services Design Engineer to work within a multidiscipline environment based in Manchester.

The successful candidate will ideally have 3/5 years experience working in a Design Consultancy, however candidates with less experience will be considered, as well as Degree Qualified and preferably a member of a recognised Institute such as IEE.

The successful candidate will be answerable to the Department Head and will be required to carry out all necessary design functions covering lighting layouts and calculations, cable sizing, containment routing, data and fire alarm systems and calculations.

The position will entail working on a range of projects throughout the UK including initial concept studies, site surveys, preliminary design and detailed design.

Much of the work takes place within the Pharmaceutical Sector, experience in the design of Chemical or Biological Research Laboratories, Secondary Manufacturing Facilities such as Tableting Suites, Clean Room Design and other Healthcare related projects would be an advantage.

Experience of working in a multidiscipline environment will also be of benefit.

This consultancy has over 30 years experience in the design of structures for the health and education sectors, and have worked on numerous residential and commercial projects.

You will work closely with an associate and take the day-to-day responsibility for major sections of this project and be responsible for client and architect liaison, as well as site visits. BIRMINGHAM c. £35,000

An opportunity has arisen to work for a multi-disciplinary Civil & Structural Engineering Consultancy. The main functions of the role are - To be wholly accountable to the Structural Engineering Manager and in whose absence to assist with supervising the unit's employees, financial and physical resources. You will responsible for undertaking the initial appraisal of schemes, evaluate alternative economic structural designs and to prepare drawings or preliminary schemes through to final working drawings. To prepare risk assessments, health and safety plans, specifications, to carry out tender procedures and to control the contract. To check structural/civil engineering aspects of work prepared by other Divisions of the Council and to check also designs submitted by Consulting Engineers and Structural specialists in respect of projects managed by other Divisions or Directorates.

Suitable candidates should be Chartered Structural Engineers (CEng. MIStructE) with relevant post graduate practical experience preferably working in a structural/civil engineering design office.

Previous experience designing building structures with the ability to produce design calculations and specifications in accordance with relevant British Standards/Regulations would be advantageous.
